when she reached the bottom she discovered some one had glued green tissue paper to the light bulb that hung from the ceiling! and turned it on to make an unusual green glow. no one was down there. and there was no evidence that any one had climbed out the window. " something fishy is going on here." she said. it had been raining all night. there were no footprints all of a sudden there was a big flash of lightning and a big crash of thunder and the power went out. "luckily i have this flashlight!" she said "sometimes i don't know what i would do without it."
she decided to go back to bed. when she went to open the door it was locked! from the outside! "help! help!" she shouted. no one heard her. " help!" she tried again.this time she heard foot steps. the door opened and and there stood her mom and dad. " what are you doing down here?" her dad asked. " well it is kind of a long story. i heard a weird noise down here and i came down to see what it was. the basement door was open and the noise was inside. someone has glued green tissue paper to the light down there. it looked like a weird glow. almost as they expected someone to come down here and the power to go out. and when i came to go to bed the door was locked from the outside." she explained. OK. lets just go back to bed and we will investigate in the morning" her mom said. " beep beep! . . . . . .beep beep!" went her battery operated alarm clock. 7:00 time to get up. she got up made her bed brushed her hair and teeth an got dressed. it was summer. June 5th not quite summer but close enough. it was Saturday she flipped the light switch on only to discover the power was still out. she looked out the window. " looks like dads makin' bacon on the grill." she thought. after she ate she asked if she could see if her best friend Emily was home. "sure" said her mom. " ding dong ding dong!" went the door bell. Emily answered. " hi! can you play?" asked Becky "i will ask my mom " said Emily.
